BMC's programs, services and commitment strive to facilitate newcomers' integration into society and to enhance their capacity to participate more effectively in our community.

Under the Information and Awareness stream, funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, our settlement counselors serve and work with the newcomer community in Peel to facilitate their settlement and integration in Canada. The clients that come through our doors have various questions and concerns related to their settlement in Peel and our settlement counselors work with them by creating an action plan that helps them achieve their ultimate goal. The most common needs our clients are assisted with are housing, education, employment, health care, etc.

In addition to the services provided, counselors also organize various information sessions that are of interest in the community. Some of these sessions include

    • Accessing Settlement Services Online
    • Money Management
    • Transportation
    • Housing
    • Education System in Ontario
    • Canadian Workplace Culture
    • Stress Management

These information sessions are delivered by the settlement counselors and/or by guest speakers invited from the community. By attending these sessions, the clients' understanding of the Canadian Culture and systems are enhanced. Therefore, allowing clients to make more informed decisions and a smoother settlement and adaptation into Canadian society.
